Yay, the sub has finally come out for this which is just brilliant as we were just served a spectacular action packed episode… Let’s have a look at it then…

After a little recap, we find Lelouch the model for the art class as the atmosphere becomes a little more relaxed after the whole revelation that Suzaku had murdered his father… Some good comic relief here as well from Rival as usual and some foreshadowing with Shirley here. Well, it moves on to setting up Euphie having to judge at an art show and then moves on to Ougie (i think that’s his name) about to enjoy his lunch most most likely made by the amnesiac Viletta (damn lucky stiff) until he is interrupted by the folks from kyoto needing some help; Toudou has been captured! Lelouch plans to help them and CC appears in a hot new outfit yet again. Euphie is asked to pick a Knight (oh we all know what her choice will be…).

Now, I don’t know about you but finding out that a person had murdered their father, sort of sets in my mind that he wouldn’t be good for my sister, but Suzaku and Nanali do have a nice dynamic, i think. I want to know what this important talk Lelouch wants with Suzaku is about exactly… And even more Shirley foreshadowing as she finds a crumppled piece of paper behind her desk… We all know something very big is going to come of this… Rakshata also makes her real first appearence here as well and she came bearing gifts XD

6. Again, another cool frame is introduced.

This little bit about Rakshata’s previous work in the usage of cybernetics in medical purposes seems like it may come back up again at one point later on… and the new suits are quite cool looking. I love this section for it’s comedy alone…

Kallen: So will these really raise up our synchronisation rates?
Rakshata: Nope
Kallen: What!?
Rakshata: What they will raise however is your survival rate…

Lloyd here is hillarious again as he is frustrated at the paperwork he needs to sign while Suzaku is shaking at the prospect of being the executioner for Tendou which we are revealed to having taught Suzaku when he was younger… Loves Llyod’s line at being under attack; “Looks like we’re saved from document hell…”

The gekka, the new frames from Kyoto, were introduced here and boy was it an introduction, straight into a battle where they are just decimating the other force. Finally, we have a large number of frames that are now on the cool and abilities level close to that of the Guren and Lancelot now which will mean the battles can only get better… Also, Zero make a pretty intimidating entrance here, breaking through a wall on top a KnightMare Frame… and then goes on to give yet another motivational speech… The song insert for the next part of the battle was a very good choice and I expect to be able to get that track at one point or another in the futurend to top off the new Frame introductions, Toudou gets a new and very cool looking Frame as well XD

2. Ah excellent, we get away from the paperwork and can enjoy a nice robot death match together
3. Damn, that was close…
4. Dramatic with sparkles in the air… erm, no comment…

Suzaku enters the fray at this point, and for once he’s actually getting beaten sorely which was just excellent to see and then after narrowly getting skewered, it’s revealed to everyone who he is… to which Lelouch breaks down and tells everyone to retreat. I love his deranged laugh right at the end as you just know, he has cracked XD

Now, to wait for the next episode: 17.5… which is to be a recap episode… Omni at Random Curiosity has blogged about episode 17.5, episode 18 and even the picture drama 2 as well… lots of lovely screenshots which have my mouth watering for the episodes to get subbed sooner…
