From the Ragged Confines of Work, I Have Returned!

Alright, I won’t lie. The Open Book period actually ended at 9:30 am of last Friday, I’ve just been distracted by celebrating since then. Final Fantasy XII is so addictive; to the point I actually did none of my regular class work so I’ve been making it up for this week for my weekend ‘binge’ D:

For those a little curious on the subject of this Open Book thingy I keep on mentioning; on the British A-Level ‘Salters Chemistry’ curriculum at AS level, 15% of the final grade is attributed to the Open Book Paper; students are given two weeks and two chemistry articles to which they must complete a 1000 word report on the chosen topic (this year being heterogeneous catalyst, specifically in respects to engine exhaust conversion).

Doesn’t sound that hard at all, but when I actually got to it, it is the god damn most boring piece of chemistry assignment I have ever done. I procrastinated greatly for a week and a half and rushed it done in the last few days, even having to resort to writing my summary just minutes before I had to turn it in (50 word summary was hell as well. I don’t see how I could have put together 4 sound chemical points of summary in 50 words especially when just mentioning some chemical names took up a sizable chunk of my word size).

But the root of the matter is I have gotten past it and never have to worry about it again, as it is utterly final and there are no second chance. D:

While on the school subject, I also received my Janurary Exam results for my course as follows;

Core Mathematics 1 - 99/100 - A
Physics 1: Mechanics and Radiation - 77/90 - A
Salters Chemistry: For Life - 75/90 - A
Critical Thinking: Credibility of evidence - 62/120 - D
Crit. Thinking: Assessing and developing auguments - 114/180 -C

I’m pretty happy with the results, but will be retaking exams for Physics 1 and both Critical Thinking (god awful but apparently looks good on any CV) along the others in May/June; including Physics 2: Thermodynamics and Electricity, Physics 3: Particle Physics, Core Maths 2, Mechanics Maths 1, Salters Chemistry: Natural resources and Cisco CCNA1. Luckily exams are always so much easier to work through than coursework for me so this shouldn’t affect my anime schedule at all this summer (sort of like last year during my GCSE examinations).

But seriously, I’m back in business and I have a huge stack of anime I’ve missed in the almost last month to go through… (plus I’m interested in watching Gundam Seed as well)…. this again could take a while. But at least I’ll be utterly happy to ‘work’ away at this XD

(probably see ya when Code Geass 22 is released)

EDIT: also, expect some better use of space at deranged-minds.com besides from the crappy redirect page from before. (I’ve been working my coder like a slace recently =P)

      Exams have always been my forte… Coursework and the such however…. although I hear that the Jan exams are always worse than what you should get in the end… by june, you should be used to the style of testing I suppose…

      I really hope I’m right because between retakes and first takes, the amount in the Summer could be about 3 times more than in January… D:

      i envy your results, i am retaking my open book, and it is worse than last years, the chem and phys exams were also harder than last years, so i still did rubbish on them x_x

      i have 2 days till i have to turn in my open book and i have only just got round to it (hence the time of posting) i honestly beleive that i will be r*ped by my chemistry teacher on how appaling my open book paper it…
