There’s Something About April

Spring; signifying love to the romantics, beauty to the holistic, pain to the hay fever sufferers and to any otaku hikkimori worth their salt, it means one of the highest concentration of new anime we can expect until roughly the time it takes for the earth to transverse around the sun once. Spring, yeah: beauty, love and pain in a waving torrent of torrent files for anime upon anime upon anime. Yes, my friends, it’s another Spring Lineup Post D:

Kohaku: Worth Her Salt. Are You!?

I don’t know about you but I enjoy spring watching more for some reason. I lost a lot of luster over anime at the beginning of the winter season only for it to come back around near the end of it, to which I had finally got on the Geass boat =P

Being the Manga Elitist Bastard I am (the hypocritical one who watches enough anime to balance it all out), this season’s line up is surely making my mouth water in anticipation. Some of my favourite series are getting the anime treatment and while I doubt it will be as good (as it usually does, with some of these) it’s still going to be damn well enjoyable to watch anyways. What follows will be some slim pickings from the packed line up based solely on its pre-existing manga.

Hayate no Gotoku! AKA Hayate the Combat Butler

Hayate; resistant to car-based damage. Gains Berserker state.

Comedy and action mix at it’s best from what I have seen in the manga… (I’m a volume behind unfortunately D: ) One to definitely look forward to, as the slapstick comedy can only get better animated (as proven by School Rumble).

Seto no Hanayome

Proposal to the Max!!

One of my absolutely favourite manga as those who have read this post recently may know. Here’s one I’m really looking forward to as an anime, as sadly, anime enjoy a better translation rate than manga (well, smaller and less known manga) could ever hope to imagine. The manga has reached volume 12 at my last check I believe and the scanlations are but at 3 volumes sadly, but from the amount seen so far, this series could go amazingly far.

Nagasarete Airantou

Catching men…. sadly, not enough of him to go around it seems.

Same as above really, not that much manga but I found it to be a brilliant series which I had hoped to see more of. So, anime it is then…

Lucky Star

With a main character like that, I just have to watch.

Great 4Koma manga which was picked up by Sleeping-Forest relatively recently actually. Although I haven’t read so much of this, a few chapters or so, I expect this to be a good series and one to really look forward to. I hope it can get a good adaptation like Azumanga did XD

There are probably a couple more series I could have mentioned that looked quite interesting but I wanted to go for the adapts, some I’m interested in are Kaze no Stigma, El Cazador and Darker than Black amoung others. I won’t know what I’ll cement into my schedule, but definitely like last Spring, I am going to sample a vast majority, who knows what you may miss (I missed Geass on my Winter lineup D: ).

Good sources for line ups are as follows:

Random Curiosity, good short breakdowns.

Very snazzy looking guide to the Spring Line up found via Japanator
