So yuh, being coined as Berserk Lite, or Berserk: but with girls, I picked this up from Eclipse who do a lot of really good series and I must say I found myself enjoying it. Violence and blood ahoy!

The OP hasn’t even started yet!
Opening was quite alright, sung by Nightmare who did Death Note’s OP if I remember rightly. Nicely showed off exactly what the show would entail; blood and violence… pretty short though…

Victims of a Yoma
After the OP, it starts off with Villagers debating what to do about the recent Yoma attacks to which a Claymore is requested. Claymores, sometimes called the silver eyed witches are half yoma and the only thing supposedly able to fight them.

Pretty….
While the villagers are scared of the arrived Claymore, Raki goes along with her (and gets a sword in his face for his troubles. He explains the first victims in the village were his parents, and then has to run off back home, to which he finds his uncle dead.

I’m sorry…. I laughed at his misery in this scene.
It turns out the Yoma has taken his brother’s body and mind and masqueraded as him. Knowing that there is a claymore out there, he decides to give up the routine and leave but not before he has a snack.

Yoma be ugly…
The claymore arrives and slaughters the yoma in a pretty cool fight (extermination scene). Afterwards the villagers throw Raki out in case he becomes a Yoma too.

Who you gonna call? The claymores apparently…
Raki finds himself trying to find the claymore he met and actually meets up with another one… well, a Yoma in disguise. The claymore arrives and the Yoma takes Raki as a hostage to which a fight ensues. Pretty good action at this point, and even more blood XD Raki is allowed to travel with the Claymore now, to which we learn is named Claire.

Fighto!
The episode was quite interesting and I could get used to this level of violence… Will have to see more to know whether I’ll keep watching but the chances are high that I will. Claire lacks a lot of depth but that’s probably because of her character as a Claymore.Hopefully, more about her and claymores will be found out in later episodes. I’ll be looking froward to the next.

And before I’m out, one more bloody screen cap

Interesting star indeed, luckily i m not one to be scared by gore and blood
Me neither… though I was surprised at it… once i got over that, well, it went over well… =P
There’s enough spilt blood in this episode to fill a bathtub. Hopefully there’s be more charater development next episode so that the casuality count doesn’t keep going up.
