The new series from Gainax (bringing you newer and weirder things since NGE) comes Tengen Toppa Gurren-Laagan… This one wasn’t on my to-watch list either, but none of the lighter series that I was looking forward to were out so I checked this out and it was quite enjoyable actually…

Kamina, Simon and Yoko.

So, what does the show actually entail… what makes it different from all the other anime? The face-mecha. Weird concept but it works out alright actually. Art style is kinda weird but it somewhat fits the weird sense you get from the series. The action scenes were great actually.

Face-Mecha and they are coming to get you!

The characters are quite linkable. Simon, our main character, seems the hard worker and general nice person who just doesn’t seemed liked by most people for his like to dig. His motivation being Mole-Pig Steak and finding treasures. Kamina, the aniki, is a self righteous leader character who aspires to reach the surface. Yoko is the mysterious red head who appears when the trouble starts. An agreeable cast indeed.

General Opinion: Hey, isn’t this the show with the hot red head?

In all, it was a very entertaining watch and I’m looking forward to more. This has already cemented itself on my to-watch list this spring from now on XD And before I’m out, last screen shot….
