That it is Gin, well said…
I’m a Manga Elitist Bastard (MEB)… I love Manga, and I get so hyped when I find out there will be an Anime based on one of my favourite series, and I start bitching about its fallacies. I think I should have figured out that me and adaptations just don’t mix well together. Then I thought, I could maybe forget I was a MEB for the duration of an episode and bitch afterwards. This method is somewhat agreeing with me for at least this series.
First things first, I loved Rosario to Vampire when I first read it (and as I am still reading it). The transition into Anime for me felt quite good for the animation alone. The Manga-ka is not so good in his art style, but he does truly get better as he goes on. A qualm I have with the Anime adaptation already is the heightened fan service. Does Moka have to show off her panties every other shot? Some say yes, but I prefer my Anime at least to be tasteful in the execution.
The second problem was the filler. Poorly done filler and padding out an unimportant storyline almost killed it for me. I mean if it seriously took up to episode 6 to introduce Gin and to establish only 5 chapters worth of the original content, I have serious doubts about the pacing for the later half of this series. Especially since the various OP and ED variants show us that Rubi and the School Safety Commission arc will be included in this short series and from what I can garner from the titles of the next few episodes, we are looking at some rush near the end and a lot of rearranging of the story.
It might actually turn out well, and a faster pace would be more enjoyable that what is happening at the moment, but I am not betting on it. I just have to wonder how far that will adapt to before the series ends, as I would love to get to Volume 6 when Tsukune stops being an overall cissy and becomes somewhat cool. But then again, maybe I am just worrying too much. I will probably get this worried on seeing the anime adaptation of To-Love-Ru as well.
On the latest episode, I am pleased to see Gin introduced as he is one of my favorite characters (even though I still think he is kinda forgiven too easily even after being that episode’s/chapter’s monster of the week). I actually like the action in the show and loved the more comedic ending to this week’s battle, but the one thing that really killed the feeling of how good an action scene is, was the bat.

I know it is some sort of manga-ka avatar (I remember seeing it on the cover flap of Volume 1) but it is getting darn annoying to have it stated to you how long the fight was, because it just demeans the whole fight and it no longer seems as good. I hate that.
I can’t wait until next episode as Shirayuki is introduced which confused me a bit as she was introduced in chapter 18 but I can live with that at least.

I have yet to read the manga, the show has been fairly er….light and entertaining so far. Being the genre it’s in I really do expect nothing more, at least for the moment.
Bat = Information box ^^
Rosario Vampire is a fun and entertaining show. I wasn’t expecting much when I started reading manga but it’s been getting good lately. As for the anime adaptation I’m used to fanservice per se. I have no issue myself since the sequence of each episode is the same as the manga just added panties.
Overall I’m just going to sit back and relax and seeing what the conclusion will be, somewhere along chapter 17 would be awesome.
