Canned Dogs reports that Mx0 will be ending after a few more issues in Shounen Jump along with two other titles (which I have never heard of before actually).
No. NO. NO! Another Yasuhiro Kano work gone before its time. This will be as depressing as Pretty Face except I will be seeing it ending live… This was a good fricken story without the awkward gender bending or quasi yuri incest of Pretty Face which is why I thought it may have ran for much longer. Although it has ran for almost twice as long as Pretty Face, I am indeed saddened at seeing it go.
Farewell, I will miss the time we had together. T____T
Kogarashi… You rule! Getting Naeka to go down on Fukibi like this was hilarious. The brother wanting to film this from the side was also funny. The aftermath was creepily funny… especially his corpse.
And he doesn’t just create one yuri moment… he went for a second one. I love the way this guy thinks because it is so socially inept, but I guess it suits the Maid Guy who can see through things, detect stares through his hair antenna and shred paper with his teeth.
I believe this show has reached the stage of win. And all it took was a more girly Kuu and the introduction of Sakura. With her amusing blend of delusional humour and the rest of the show pulling out some comedy stops, this became an extremely enjoyable episode that I could sure do with some more of.
I feel sorry for Sakura really… trying to confess to Noboru when he is too distracted by the new catastrophes in his life, namely the socially deprived Kuu and Kou. I loved his chain of though as they planned to go home to make some hot cakes… Hot Cakes, Frying Pan, Gas, Explosion, Fire, Financial Setback…. Bankruptcy!
Also trying to puzzle out Noboru’s situation led to Sakura imagining many of the more ridiculous (and some cliche) shoujo plots and also led us to some gems like Meido Kou. Sakura made this whole episode full of win.
Her thoughts on Kuu were quite hilarious too. Kuu being more girly in this episode was excellent too. I have chosen to ignore the existence of a male form… It is just better for my mental health. Kuu in the her ‘newest fashion’ was a sight to see.
Last note, lucky bastard. I do truly look forward to more of this… Enjoyable ride all the way XD
Oh God, Lelouch, you got Rollo onto your side through an impressive emotional baiting game while pulling off yet another fun Britainian owning. Lelouch is entirely back on form it seems. Rollo’s Geass is completely discovered by Lelouch in a bit of foreplanning that made little sense for him to do but whatever. Rollo’s past is somewhat revealed as well. I think we can definitely rule out all those Rollo may be Nunally theories going around… Also, Rollo as a Shouta Assassin was hilarious to see as is Rollo’s Shinji Ikari moment.
This episode’s owning of Britainia was reminiscent of episode 23 of the last season. Why must everything be built on easily destroyed foundations. What would Lelouch use then!? Seriously, this was a great reveal totally throwing you off as you try to figure out exactly what Lelouch was doing. And using the shield to board it down to safety was hilarious. Guilford was thoroughly beaten in this exchange. Tell that to your creepy Cornelia plate!
I have no clue why Li Xingke made such a big deal last episode to which he only just struck a deal in the end to kill off the politician. A lot of speculation for nothing…
Awwww… C.C. can’t assemble a handgun…. is it just me or was she especially moe in this scene… The new outfit helps…
Excuse me but… ‘Kaguya-Hime!!’ There seems to be a bigger plan coming from what we hear Diethard telling Sayako. I so want to see more of these characters… so badly… Kaguya-Hime! I swear she will actually have a purpose later on. I swear!
Oh yeah and the backstabber is back at school. I want to see how pissed Lelouch is interacting with Suzaku casually while deep down inside he wants to snap his neck. This should be fun and the Loli Knight gets more screen time too. Really i want them to maybe fasten the pace and move from the whole school scene but that depends on how it goes in the next episode I guess.
Also, sorry for the lateness of this post. Not as fast as usual because my internet decided to die on me and refused revival. orz. This is a problem only Ruki should have…
There is something fundamentally wrong with this picture depicting Britainia from the intro of Code Geass. I will now properly highlight it.
A Britainian Empire without Britain sounds a helluva lot like a oxymoron to me. But then again this show is filled with Oxymora. Suzaku’s I will change Britainia from within and selling out his best friend to get to the top to Lelouch’s take down Britainia with my own dictatorship. But to the brunt of it is: who cares, it is a damn entertaining show.
Alright, I am bullshitting. I care as a proud Britainian. Britain should be at the centre of that map and to hell, if our arrow attacks need to hop over America, it should damn well do so. But I will continue watching this and I will continue enjoying it…
This post is inspired by little sleep, British pride and people talkingseriousabout Geass… I would delve more into it but it doesn’t warrant digging… *looks for C.C. Fan Arts*
Druaga has really grown on me and I am now quite intrigued at where the story is going. The ghost like lady who sneaks up on Fatina after she bathed has some serious connection to Neeba who we have to question whether he really cares about his party or not, and what his goal is in trying to defeat Druaga.
Things don’t look too hot for Jil’s party with it now being revealed that apart from Ahmey (who seemed to have gotten extremely far up the tower) Jil has the most experience at climbing the tower. They are really struggling at this point. Melt also has trouble stomaching their procured rations, the hilarious roper tentacle.
But at least they have a secured win now but is it just me or does Jil need to do more. He’s the tank so he should be the one getting the brunt of the attack and dishing out some of his own. So far, he has sit back and let the opponent slam into him. I sure hope he gets better… Can’t wait for more! XD
I am in love with the dog fight sequences in Macross Frontier. This show is just spectacular and I am still in awe of how well the CGI was integrated. I said it was impossible to put them together… I WASWRONG!
Oh boy, this was hilarious… Rito at the front lines of the Deviluke forces was brilliant even if it wasn’t for real, and Zastin calling out to his mangled body, his destroyed ship and such. Zastin is always a laugh any time he is on the screen. This show needs more Zastin (and Mikan)!!!
Strangely enough, there was little fan service for the majority of the episode, I was almost thrown off if not for the little bit at the beginning and the intense eechi-filled ending with the tentacles…
Lala is really growing on me and the situations she puts Rito into makes me jealous sometimes. This time however, not… her cooking freaking sent him near enough to the afterlife, and started attacking him as he tried to come back to life… Some people can’t seem to get a break. And yet at times, they get all the luck… orz
And now the horror of the episode, with the CG monstrosities with the tentacles and the groping and the violation of Lala, Haruna (and Rito somewhat). The ending scared me, not just because of the tentacles but because of the CGI on 2D action… man that freaked me out.
The episode was enjoyable all over though and as with every week, I’ll probably enjoy it more when I get to understand all of the dialogue later in the week. Let’s hope the use of CGI is toned down because this show was near perfect without it…
I am having a little trouble following what is going on here really… A special A class of the 7 top students who seemingly are allowed to do anything they want all day… it is kind of a little ridiculous to believe really… The characters are all really flat as well fitting so easily into types… but apart from all this I kinda enjoyed the show.
This is quite funny stuff with the ridiculous things going on really like the pro wrestling contest in episode 2 and the god awful cooking in episode 3 with perfectly spherical onigiri was just a laugh to watch. So yeah, nothing to take seriously, just something to have fun with every week. I will be following this.
Also, Jun Fukuyama is hilarious in his role as Kei especially when he is gleefully happy.
As a boy growing up, I found myself immersed in fantasy and mystery. I grew up with The Magician’s Nephew, the Hardy Boys and the other children’s classics expected of a cultured English boy but it was not until about the age of 9 did I find out that fantasy could indeed go further. I discovered Science Fiction through the Animorphs series by KA Applegate and theratically through Star Wars.
What I discovered was a whole different method to bring me into a whole new world. Instead of the classical fantasy of a different world delved in an unbelievable system of magic or the like, a split of what our world may have been with just a little bit of ‘magic’, in Science Fiction, I found myself in a world that we could reach someday - something I could really start identifying in.
It was such an amazing feeling, to be able to imagine well that the future could be fantastic as I had read - in fact, I believe it is a inspiration for my choice in pursuing a route into aeronautical engineering instead of an humanities subject that many expect that I am actually in. Weird that, considering how much more I loved the Sciences and Math, loving to solve and puzzle and advance in a non-abstract manner.
Science Fiction has since remained my favourite genre although I have since broadened much from there. My love has always laid in seeing what could develop with what we already have. Space travel, advanced technology, biotechnology and the like interest me greatly and more so when portrayed well in other media. I felt so inspired and impressed by the computer and peripheral technology in the ‘Minority Report’ and I was once again blown away by a fantastic world. I found this feeling in much anime as well in the multitude of Mecha anime and some others - I remember Gundam especially from my childhood. Macross Frontier has managed to impress me all the more than any of these though.
It is just a little level of subtlety that I couldn’t capture with screenshots. The floating screens, the hologram suit, the flight suits, the space technology - I was in awe from the moment I started watching Macross Frontier. Sheryl Nome is a proformer, an artist backed by such a glorious canvas. Even for such a normal thing as a concert to be like this was amazing to me. Perhaps I really just love the idea of a life of more convenience. I long for a future where such that the amazing things I see in Science Fiction was commonplace. Maybe that is why I am salivate at the new gadgets and computers coming out. I so badly want to reach the point where Science Fiction meets reality.
As with most audio/visual mediums, Macross Frontier delivers stunning animation (to which I even thought the CGi was done well and didn’t look ugly at all). The subtle touches and the brilliant designs throughout stapled together trimly with music from the magnificent Kanno Yoko and great voicing from a large pool of very good Seiyu,
So that’s a little on why I like Macross Frontier so much. Another part to do with it may be just Sheryl and Ranka really. I love stories with good characters and these two take the cake. Alto (hime) and Ozma are pretty cool guys but pail in comparison to the likes of Sheryl.
Of course, Ranka tries to keep up with buns of her own…
This is really a definite keeper on the to-watch-list. I want to try out some older Macross series too. I hear that Frontier is the successor carrying on somehow from Macross 7 or such so I may as well start there.
