Kyouran Kazoku Nikki 02 - So I Hate God… I Hate The World

I don’t know what to really expect of this show. I picked this up with no clue what I was in for, and it managed to surprise me more than I thought possible. It was insane, in the random shit kind of insane. When I mentioned random, I seriously was not kidding in the slightest. Please excuse the lack of names, I am bad with those. orz

It is just such a weird mishmash with the main male lead finding himself married to a loli cat girl and father to five new ‘children’ all for the sake of saving the world. Baring the weird wife, he is now the father to an electric jellyfish, an abused girl, an okama guy, a killer robot and a lone survivor lion. Mishmash indeed.

From the beginning and such, I knew that it was just silly fun, until it started getting serious all of a sudden at the end of episode 1 through to episode 2 only to end in an absolutely silly manner again which in my opinion shouldn’t have solved the problem. From the ending it seems indeed, it wasn’t solved and there is a semblance of a much bigger plot.

I don’t know what to expect anymore… but I’ll still be giving this series another go at, at least.

Kanokon 02 - That’s Something New

Kouta, you damn lucky fool! Time for more unabashed fanservice - hey, I am not complaining!

Sorry for getting on this so late! I am loving this show, thankfully to the show not taking itself too seriously and it being very honest and upfront with their eechiness. Upfront indeed! Kouta seems to be really realling in the girls now with a wolf spirit added to the mix also… All hail the great ero king!

I still have trouble believing that Kouta is in high school. He also runs at the sight of a more than willing (oh so more in fact) Chizuru which just shouldn’t happen once a man hits puberty. This episode also included one of the more original use of a barriar ward ever - to rape a shouta unmolested (but he sure was!). This was great fun and I can’t wait for more.

Once again, Kouta, you lucky bastard!

Macross Frontier 1-3 - CGI That Works!?

This is what sold it for me:

Alto: Let me pilot a Valkyrie.
Ozma: (Grins) (Punches) You think you can just ask!? Get him out of here!

That was awesome! Finally someone has the right idea not to let random kids onto their amazing hardware without good reason. Sadly he was let in by episode 3. It could have been fun if he had actually joined the Military but they seem to be really slow at actually getting to an attack. The best thing about this show really is the mech fights and for once, I thought the CGI used in the show was not glaringly ugly, but fluid and spectacular looking.

Of course the other draw of the show is the cute Renka and the lovely Sheryl… I need not say more on that. XD

I so need more of this. T_____T

Code Geass R2 03 - Zero is a Woman!?

It falls off sometimes.’

Oh boy, this episode was brilliant. I feel so nostalgic with all the things I missed about Geass being back, although it sure is repeating many different scenes in much different situations. Lelouch coming into his Geass, beating the Britanian army is a small skirmish and CC posing as Zero. It’s all good though.

Strangely, Shirley has kind of grown on me since R2 started. She was pretty cute and moe with her lack of cooking skills… Seriously funny as well. XD

Suzaku’s new gig has him traveling the World, meeting new people and killing them. Known to rival armies as the ‘White Reaper of Death’ Suzaku in his Lancelot turned the whole tide of battle and decimated an army single handedly. Man, he is broken. We also find out that he is the Knight of Seven, probably by authority and skill ranked amongst the other Knights of Round. I wonder what the other knights are like and their rankings. It’s like trying to figure out Espada rankings all over again…

I laughed so much at this picture… Not only does it show that LelouchxMillay would be a hot pairing but Rivalz and Rollo are hillarious as Lelouch and Millay stare intently into each other’s eyes. May I just say: Poor Rivalz. It is now confirmed that memories of Nunally have been erased, and Nina seems to be mysteriously absent. We saw her in episode two, probably in the Britainian military and possibly working for Lloyd.

Rollo’s Geass is revealed and it does explain quite a few things. His Knighmare Frame was not actually that awesome, but the combination with his Geass made it nigh unbeatable and able to near enough teleport. Technically though, it seems not to be time stop but actually an area effect when any living being in it cannot move and miss out their consciousness in that time. Everything else - water, mech and Rollo can move around freely.

Rollo is pretty cool when he shows off his ruthless side killing one of their own men to keep the existence of Geass a secret and with his Geass, it was a quick and awesome killing. Would have been better if we actually saw it but oh well. Sadly, he seems way too attached to Lelouch, treasuring that locket he was given… It was pretty creepy.

I love the interplay between C.C. and Kallen. It is hillarious. Also, Hot CC in new outfit is Hot. Hot Kallen in towel is Hot. This scene was amazing! I found it hilarious with the chinese ambassador thinking Zero was actually a woman… and C.C. trying to carry on the joke, with sadly Kallen ruining it. Shown at the end, it seems the Black Knights have been betrayed by the Chinese Federation as Sword Dude (I forget his name) said they would be destroyed now.

This was harsh. Bringing all those prisoners and they are going to kill all the big players who were captured. Villetta shows a little emotion on seeing Ougi on screen proclaimed to be killed the following day.

And the big solution to the perma-geass… It was a contact lens… A special contact lens given byt C.C. apparently will not work if his Geass gets stronger. I wonder what that could entail… more controlling power, more times at each person?

Shirley is adorable peeking on that couple and getting all blushy thinking of Lelouch (with weird headphones on). I like this Shirley better, like the one in the start of the first season. I started hating her when she went emo. Sadly, she will probably get those memories back in the series somehow… and it will all go down hill from there.

This was a very elaborate plan just to facilitate the Geassing of Rollo. But then again, this is what Lelouch is known for, and it wouldn’t be Code Geass without it. I had fun along the way. However his plans failed at the finish line.

One last note: Lelouch…. You just got OWNED! I so can’t fricking wait for the next episode as I honestly wonder how Lelouch will get out of this one.

Tower of Druaga 03 - Party Formed

The party is formed and ready to head out finally. We saw some of King Gilgamesh’s backstory - he looks suspiciously like Jil and he has some weird connection to Kaaya, calling her Ishara.

Jil seems so pitiful facing against the slime, but he has now upgraded from a stick to a sword. A pretty important one by the looks of it - also possibly he is the only person strong enough to wield it. The weight was enough to surprise him but he could carry it after that. Let’s see how it goes. Come on Jil: Become BADASS!

And added to the party is a mage (classic black mage using magic to attack as opposed to Kaaya being a white mage with healing non direct attacks). Melt seems to be like a golfer when in action though, complete with a caddy and an awesome golf bag. Also, what sort of lightning elemental attack turns something into stone… damn weird status effects.

The story is now moving rapidly in the right direction, and stopping with the messing around in the town. To go out and adventure is what I expected and wanted out of this. Hopefully some good fighting… Can’t wait for the next episode.

ToLoveRu 03 - First Date!

This episode had a lot of Mikan and lot of Lala fanservice. You can already tell how good it was. Lala is now a student at Rito’s school and hijinks ensue making his life all the more difficult. I like how the principal just let her in, the letch that he is.

We got some nice tasteful Lala fanservice this episode and a lot of eechier Lala fanservice as well. Lol. From loads of costume changes to Peke being too tired to keep up a whole outfit.

I can’t wait for this to be subbed because I am feeling I am missing a lot bumbling through the more dialogue driven scenes, mainly with Haruna.

*Goes to watch it another two times before the subs come out*

Enjoy the fanservice!

ToLoveRu 02 - Now With A Healthy Dose Of Understanding

Oh my god… This was still funny the fourth time - more so because I could understand all of it. I don’t know why Mikan really shone through here whereas I didn’t really think anything of her watching it raw but she is on my list of favourite characters for this show. What is up with me and loli characters this season. Also, Haruna comes out more cute with her stuttering and Rito slapping when I watched the scene subbed.

orz… I missed so much raw. I can’t wait until next week’s episode… which is tomorrow! ‘Oh Yeah!’

Have You Ever Leapt Through Time?

So I recently watched Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo with my younger sisters. I have to say it was a magical experience. It was an effective, inspiring and intriguing slice of life (well, as close a slice of life as one can get with time travel involved - It felt like one).

To me, the explanation behind the time traveling seemed unrewarding and standard but I was enjoying it too much by then to care. The story tells of Konno Makoto, her friends and her romance while she gains the ability to leap through time. Literally.

I guess the real selling point to me was the characterizations, like many slice of life’s actually. The scripting is beautifully done and the characters come off more rounded and less 2-D than I am used to in anime.

Although, I am one for happy ending, the bittersweet ending in this movie, being packed with raw emotion the whole way through had me pleased. At the end of the movie, I said to myself that I could see me buying this on seeing the DVD in store. This was a brilliant watch and I would recommend it to anyone.

Note: I almost cried when he said ‘Mirai de Matte’

Code Geass 03 - Leaked

The last quarter of episode 3 was leaked out onto the internet it seems. Reports of arrests and restructuring scares ensue. In all, I am just scared we won’t get an episode this week, as some have been saying owing to the last quarter being quite spoiler-rific. Hopefully, nothing as severe will happen.
