There will be a Gurren Lagann Movie according to a number of my usual haunts which I will source at the end. The news will officially be released in the next issue of New Type. This will be epic, me thinks. I cannot wait.

As a proud Brit, I would gladly take up this flag. The creator says, ‘It represents shouting “UNION!” and joining together; kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens.’ I assume it is a mistake of the Telegraph to say union instead of unification.
All too hilarious, from the website of the crappiest of our broadsheets. Also, I found it through Derailed By Darry. Don’t know what is more funny, the whole situation or the fact that the Gurren Flag won the vote at 55%.
PS. Oh god, the Telegraph is extreamly crappy but this is quite bad indeed with no research done into it by the looks of it. Calling this a dragon for one thing, to which a commenter stated ‘If the top-voted design tells us anything, it is a fitting emblem of the dominance of the Devil in this once wonderful Christian country.’ =_= As a confirmed and practising Christian, I saw nothing wrong with it and am thinking this commenter has looked way too deeply into it.
PPS. Also, as a Royal Naval Reserve with quite a lot of backing, I am appalled to see a British journalist mistakenly calling it the Union Jack when it is not flying from the mast of a boat. It’s the Union Flag.
Gurren Lagann just doesn’t cease to impress. Ever. I was expecting just a bit of utterly cool ass kicking and winning. What we got was so much more and so much better than I expected.

We. Like. Giant Robots…
What totally slipped my mind actually was the unification thing, as it has not been overtly referred to as of late, so it was a huge surprise to me at least when the Gurren Lagann unified with the Arc-Gurren to become the huge Arc-Gurren Lagann… which looks spectacular by the way.

With the power to break through space-time 0_0
What got me was how it was strong enough to shatter a Mugen through space-time and yet, not strong enough to repel the moon but oh well. I also found it hilarious how it was just overlooked as well afterwards.
And now they control the moon, or the Ganman that it encased at least which is huge. Brings back memories of the prologue and also makes it very apparent how we are very near the end of this.

Now, I want to see this unifying with Gurren Lagann…
For a while I also feared Nia may never pull through from the whole villain thing but this episode has given me hope. Simon’s exclamation of ‘if it’s not zero percent, to me, it may as well be 100 percent’ does sound maybe too arrogant but man, do I want to see him make it happen.
Can’t wait for next week.
After a long bout of seeing things just go downhill, I am in epic awe of how great it is to see the Gurren Brigade back to a level of it’s old glory. It was beautiful…. Now, the majority of the episode was about something completely different though.

Now, that is a sky to fight for…

Haven’t caught up with the rest of the anime that I needed to but I am now back on track with watching Gurren Lagann weekly again. I have been awaiting episode 20 with much anticipation seeing how 19 left off. After seeing 20, I have affirmed my hate of cliff hangers…

This took me a while to catch up, not as good as I used to be, but caught up I have. Gurren Lagann being a very good pick for this season, was something I have been missing for some many weeks. After watching it, I was speechless at how good it is and where it was going. I was cringing for more and screamed in outrage when I found out I had caught up… just because I then had to wait like an avid fan. =P

Teh Gasp… The ring is still on her finger…. also, I love the new outfit…
I feel sorry for Simon. I truly do. Throughout the series, his life has been getting better until something just has to happen to ruin all of that. This is the second, and I am not sure which was worse. This twist was great though, coming in after I thought we had run out of story. Simon is no longer the hero to the people; he’s a criminal. He has lost all that he’s gained and to see him stand back up from this will probably be of epic proportions.
Just a little added note of also, that the flashback episode was the best ever. I actually watched it in it’s entirety from start to finish. Who knew there was actually a right way to do these types of episodes?
