Iron Man The Movie - SciFi Fanboy Pandering

This isn’t Anime. That’s right… I sinned! Instead of watching Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone which I recently picked up, I instead went outside into the nice sunny outdoors (it wasn’t raining today for once, pretty odd) to transverse to a indoor location to watch a Movie. That’s right, I sinned and it was good. Very good!

I remember talking a while back about being a fan of SciFi a while back in relation to Macross Frontier, and talking a bit about one of the biggest pulls of the genre for me was fine attention to mechanical detail and imaginative works. Iron Man delivered all of that to me as well. The suit was done so well, the armour moving plates to accommodate different working parts and Jarvis, the funniest and coolest AI with holographic interface computer system ever. I so want that is real life.

I did hear some complaints of bad acting but who can concentrate on that when Iron Man in all his mecha glory is being badass on screen. My favourite part being when he is caught by his assistant in his Iron Man Suit, and he retorts, ‘Well, you have caught me doing worse things…’ to which I completely cracked up. I like the AI and the bots working in his private lab. Who needs Haro’s when these were so much cooler and funnier, what with the putting out a non existent fire.

Iron Man has always been my favourite Marvel-verse Super Hero. He is somewhat like the Batman of Marvel, a hero with no outright powers at all, using technology to bring the edge up and I always loved that idea since I could maybe identify with that more. I loved Iron Man more because of the mechanical aspects. Things like that have always intrigued me. Growing up, I loved the Megazords of Power Rangers (I nearly had them all!) and Transformers (the best part was getting it working and transforming it without instruction) and when I first came across Gundam Wing in my Youth I was blown away. I guess there was the birth of a Mech Anime fan.

In all, this movie was fantastic and deserves multiple viewings which is what I plan to do… This has also made me really want to build some more Gunpla, especially a Perfect Grade which was what I was thinking about as the new Iron Man suit was tested in the movie, with the armour flaps moving to expose the interworking parts… I need a perfect grade so badly now… I will just have to content myself making my master grade Stike Noir…

While I am at it, I so desperately want this figure… It is damn expensive but would be so worth it…

Rosario to Kiva

Kinda spooky how much I was reminded of Rosario to Vampire while watching the new Kamen Rider, Kiva… except no fanservice on the Rosario level… but at least all the girls are hot.
This Tokusatsu has gone down a kinda gothy-vampire-violinist theme… which hey, may seem weird but I am thinking I will enjoy it more than Den-O at least… It is looking to be nothing close to Kabuto…

It wasn’t just the one thing really… Well, an actual Kamen Rider Kiva post will probably come when T-N subs episode 4. On the subject of the title, I felt Kiva to Vampire made more sense, but Rosario to Kiva sounded better. =P Catch you guys some other time…

Kamen Rider Den-O - Episode 10 - Yay, a semblence of a larger plot

After many a two episodes ‘arcs’ we have now gotten somewhere to which I believe the bigger plot is starting XD Hana’s backstory is revealed… well, a little bit and it ties in with the whole Ryoutarou is a Singularity Point. Hopefully more will be explained soon and the mysterious guy always checking his pocket watch in every time jump needs to be explained as well.

Axe Form in all it’s glory…

Ryoutarou picks up yet another Imagin, Kintarou to which allows him the use of Axe form which looks very good actually, a lot better than Rod form at least. Axe form, as opposed to the speedier and more faster paced fighting of the other two seems to favour just simply over powering the enemy which works out just fine. His final attack, Dynamic Chop, is cooler in my eyes for the fact he states what it is after he defeats the enemy, an actual bit of suprise in that attack XD

Some actual real battle tactics, that or just an afterthought…

So next week, I hope to see more on Axe form, and the preview for the next episode was quite interesting as well. Also, saw a pic of next form (gun form) which looks pretty cool although I doubt how interesting his battles will be, I never liked Drake D:

Kamen Rider Den-O - Episode 9

It has been simmering for a bit but I believe here it has finally gotten to the same interest level I felt when I watched Kabuto. The first few episodes were lagging for me with just Ryoutarou and Momotarou but it’s been generally getting better and better with each episode.

Kamen Rider - Den-O vs Kabuto

Alright, recently I was interested in watching the long standing Kamen Rider series and only recently have I done so, somewhat… Watching 2 episodes of Kamen Rider Den-O and 4 episodes of it’s predecessor. Kamen Rider Kabuto back to back, one huge conclusion can be reached straight away. Kabuto kicks Den-O’s sorry little ass, no contest. But that’s in terms of the actual rider. A little more indepth look at the both of them now…
