Code Geass R2 15 - Hello Rapid Plot Development

I felt like I was hit by a sledgehammer while expecting a slap in the face. This is the feeling I had at stomaching the insane plot acceleration in this episode. In the past few weeks, the pacing has been slow with episode being not so important but ever it has been picking up steam just recently (I can’t believe I have Rolo to thank for it) and this episode saw quite a lot of the entire plot revolving around the Geass at least accounted for. We also got a little mention at what the Code in Code Geass is (it was lame however).

I was taken aback. I almost believed for a bit that the Emperor just upped and killed himself right there and then. It was so anticlimactic and I was so surprised when he got back up having taken V.V.’s ‘Code’ (Pfft) so no need to worry about his Geass now, just how to kill the damn bastard. Charles now having the ability to give out Geass may be profitable later on, or it could get cheesy. What follows was complete Mindfuck… not full on Gainax level but it was quite weird, to which we finally get confirmation to C.C.’s wish (which wasn’t having Lelouch’s child sadly - had such RomCom potential before, I was glad it got some back at the end) which was to die.

This is so what I have been looking forward to for a long while, getting to learn about C.C.’s past. From Loli Slave Girl C.C. to betrayed spoilt ‘Rich Girl’ C.C. was an enjoyable ride. We got some insight into the growth of the Geass, highly likely Lelouch will get to a two eyed stage soon. No wonder C.C. is such a cold person with the betrayal from the Nun though. The end was a great segment, even I was emotional, shouting at the screen for C.C. not to go through with it and for Lelouch to save her.

And in the end, we find C.C. with no memories from when she had come into contact with the Geass, rendering her a Moe Slave girl… I was almost expecting Lelouch to sport a grin like from the end of the first episode but then I remembered this was Lelouch we were talking about. A cute dependent girl wouldn’t have him grinning. I am very interested in where this is going. C.C. is one of my favourite characters and the new personality may make her more likable or the opposite. From the preview it looks to be good.

C.C. also seems to be without her Code. Either it is just faded for now since she doesn’t have her memories or either Charles or Lelouch now has it (we see Charles sporting his on the palm of his hand). Also, Shniezel gets a little power boost with something similar to a nuke which Nina has finally completed. From the OP it seems the big players will be Lelouch, Charles and Shniezel. Let’s see how that works out. Also, worthless Villetta and Ougi have their moment (Sayako was cool and so should have easily killed her) - something big better occur or I feel it will be a dragged on waste. Suzaku also didn’t drug Kallen (Gonna say her at any point, Lelouch? What about Nunnally?) and Nunnally is showing she is not one to be taken lightly. I like how she knew Suzaku was lying.

It does seem to be turning around but I suspect the next episode to not be as info packed as this episode but we can expect some nice C.C. fanservice and such. I know for one that always picks the show up no matter what. XD We are past the halfway mark, let see how much of a train-wreck this can be!

Code Geass R2 10 - The Difference Between Tactics And Strategy

The difference? I thought it was spelling… This episode was a little lack luster with the all too brief fights even though they had the new awesome Knightmare Frames which seem to be getting ridiculous in power. The Gurren vs the Shenhu was a glorified laser tug of war almost, which ended as lamely with Kallen conveniently running out of power.

Tianzi is somewhat like Kaguya, and is extremely likable. Her taking zips at the straw was quite cute and I like the dynamic between her and Kaguya a lot. Her and Kaguya together in a soundproof room… One could only imagine the doujins which will be made later.

I am a bit pissed, C.C.(my favourite character of this show) is reduced to a lowly truck driver and from the looks of it, she had enough time to customise her work station (read: truck cabin). One has to wonder how much pizza she had to eat to get these prizes especially so considering how little pizza she has eaten recently.

Fugliest mech ever. So the Shenhu is the Chinese Federation’s high powered surprise mech. It was only working on 40%, so I assume it will be kicking more ass sometime later in the series. Kallen is captured this episode and I can only imagine how many doujins this will spawn because of it, a less appealing boom than the bunny girl kallen doujin wave.

Xingke… So mud was your master plan!? After a long while of using your land tactics, this is starting to sound repetitive no matter how new and innovated the technique is. The little back to back banter and plan revealing between Xingke and Lelouch was somewhat boring. I would have been happy if they just used the Hadron Cannons to begin with.

Foreshadowing! Anya has some link to Lelouch from childhood maybe. I would like to see this developed just to see some more of Anya, that actually does some plot development rather than her just doing near nothing for all her screen time. Seriously though, I really like Anya, I swear.

And finally, the usual end of episode big shocker. Oh I am so surprised… I am sure it will be simply explained and not so important later. It has been that way for a while and frankly, I am now used to it. Oh how the show has fallen. I missed the day of the first season so much. Hope the next episode picks up, with Zero backed into a corner, I hope to see something cool at the very least.

If this was all the show had fallen to, I wouldn’t be complaining.

Code Geass R2 09 - Take The Loli And Run

Kaguya-hime! After two weeks I have missed Kaguya Code Geass so much. I missed the alluring characters and over the top plot. What I didn’t miss were the annoying huge end of episode cliffhangers, even though this week’s one was definitely one to talk about.

The Typical Harem Scene

I have played around with the idea that Code Geass could easily function as a harem anime and this little incident does seem to support the idea. Typical harem moment except Kallen is the one on top. One has to wonder when everyone else is busy establishing their new base why Kallen is in such a get up, and then you remember she was the fan service machine at the beginning of the series.

May I just say, it is glorious to see C.C. eating pizza again, and the triumphant return of Cheese-kun. C.C. is very relaxed about the compromising situation which makes her interruption all the more better. I now really wish for a Code Geass spin off without the whole ‘take down Britainia’ thing going on more with a school romance thing. I would definitely want to see that. XD

Last note on the subject, this was such a funny shot. Lelouch is a lucky man.

Where The Men Give A Nod To Lloyd

Cecile has shown already that she has marvellous assets, but this episode, she goes conservative going for a cultural look befitting the hosts. Seriously, she wore the skimpy dress at a private meeting with Zero with the Knights but this here. I am a little disappointed but not so much.

Lloyd, ever the resourceful man, has Millay in the skimpy dress. Lloyd should be a man to envy considering how the women decide to dress like around him. I am disappointed that the Knights were kept to their uniform only because I wanted to see Anya in something other than that uniform.

Prince Schniezel turns up as well, with some arm candy who just happens to be Nina. You know, she isn’t all that bad when she wasn’t so insane or Euphie obsessive. Schniezel also makes a lot more talk than even the first Prince who is actually marrying Tianzi.

Where The Loli Strikes

Kaguya-hime. Here she shines, showing up with the most outrageous guest ever and being all so relaxed about it. It is made clear here that Suzaku and her are definitely related, as cousins. She also talks him down pretty well, talking about the time Zero saved him. So not just the pretty Japanese princess, she does bring something to the table. More reason to like her.

And one last time - Kaguya-hime!!! I loved her posing here and getting right into the other party’s face as they came to confront them. Koji Oe has a good almost frame by frame of Kaguya at her best in this episode. Man, she is so awesome.

This Is Not Checkmate

As a chess playing Britainnian (so what if my best game was when I was drunk) I feel it is my time to rage here at the show of horrible chess playing. Though all we saw was the end really, it is an illegal move to make any move where the King would become in check which explains my surprised gasp at this move, however I really raged when Schniezel said Checkmate, which it so plainly is not considering Schniezel’s King was in check and Lelouch was still able to make a move. I call ridiculous on all of this and then I remembered it was Code Geass, so I stopped being serious.

Ah, there is the crazy Nina we all remember minus the table humping. She shows a wide range from racist to homicidal here, being a huge bitch casting aside her friendship with Kallen so easily because she identified herself as Japanese, and brandishing that knife on Zero in a situation where even the Knights of Rounds did nothing. Calling Euphie her goddess only made her seem crazier.

Where Zero Crosses The Line

So at the wedding, I am intrigued by Kaguya’s new get up. Her last outfit was very nice. Anyways, onto the wedding, Xingke seemed to interrupt at the traditional ‘raise your objection now’ section of the marriage rite. I would have felt better if we had some of the wedding stuff before the interruption to build up the tension (but that could be because this is what I expect from these situations. I am a romantic at heart).

So the back story between Xingke and TIanzi has been elaborated on and it was sweet and touching really, what with the pinky promise. For some reason I am really reminded of Kurenai here, what with the little girl who really just wants to get outside of where she had been confined to and the the older boy. Although, Xingke has more questionable feelings for Tianzi me thinks. Tianzi at the altar calling out for Xingke with her pinky raised high was an adorable scene.

And Zero is on the scene, ruining a perfectly good reunion between Xingke and Tianzi. He is not earning any points at all, and his whole justice thing will probably take a hit with him having a gun up to the Empress’ head. I have absolutely no idea where this plan of Lelouch’s is going and I am assuming this ridiculous turn of events is Sunrise at it’s old ‘we need a cliffhanger at the end’ scheme again. It wasn’t that it looked like he was adding another loli to his (underused) harem or the gun to her head, it was the maniacal laughter accompanying it that annoyed me.

The Parting Shot - Champagne in the Desert

Look who is back! Orange-kun, oh how we missed you! Alas, you have stopped becoming the butt of every joke and now ever so badass. Well, you would have if not for the absolutely horrendous mask you have on - it is worst than any masked character from Gundam. But yes, he is back, and from the sounds of it he will be making a move soon and he has his old spinning top of doom back - the Knight Giga Fortress. I hope to see more from him, as he made a large impression with his entrance at the end of the last season. To which I am reminded that the Gawain has been salvaged and built anew or at least salvaged to make some cooler frames. There were new frames now in the Black Knights’ possession and the preview for the next episode shows a lot of action. Now that, I am definitely looking forward to! XD

Code Geass R2 08 - I Feel Somewhat Ripped Off

Let me begin with the highlight of the episode - Kaguya-hime! Yeah, I know, thats my episode highlight for the last few consecutive episode but this episode had very little else to offer. Apart from the moe-licious Kaguya moment, I actually feel somewhat disappointed that this is how we leave things off while we break for a week.

Compulsory Anya screenshot. I am liking her and she is developing some, if ever so slowly and she makes some Suzaku scenes bearable. I love her line to Suzaku, ‘Are you a masochist?’ and her casually signing the execution orders in his steed. The Knights of Rounds since their introduction have not done that much, being held back by politics and rules, I want something like episode 6 again.

Nina is reintroduced, apparently working on a working version of her bomb. This has got to be important somewhere along the line because of how much time they used to foreshadow it here. She has gone a long way since table humping although I think Schneizel is probably using her, going to the trouble of funding this research.

And hurray for more Lloyd and Cecile. I guess Kallen is up to her fan service quota and Cecile takes over for a bit. I love the outfit although it makes little sense why she wore that. I like how relaxed Lloyd looks.

Alright, I liked Euphemia and all but with so much flash backing to her and remembering her is getting a little stale. I did like this scene with the candles for her showing again that Lelouch did generally care for her.

ANd the climax of the episode was nice and all but I couldn’t help think that I saw the same scene in Spartacus or V for Vendetta. For a while there, I did actually think he would abandon them all, but then again there wouldn’t be a good season left if that happened.

So a million zeros, the japanese just abandonned their home land and boarded this ridiculous iceberg ship which makes no sense to just introduce. I can’t help but allude Lelouch to Moses leading the masses in Exodus. The likely destination is China and I can’t help but wonder if this will go international. They showed some conflict in Europe before, (and apparently France is now in peace with Britainia) so we may get to see much more of the world and maybe more areas.

Lelouch’s plans have been getting more and more ludicrous each episode, especially in R2 and it comes to a point where it no longer seems like brilliant detailing but more like ad lib. This plan of his also was completely dependant on how well he knew Suzaku. I also believe he is being a bit too lax and not too subtle or careful anymore.

To which I believe Sayako recognizes him now. She got a lot of screen time just for being on the boat. Does she have significance here. Bah, I was left with a bitter feel that this episode didn’t deliver the same punch or even exciting fun I usually get with Geass. I desperately await the next episode.

Oh and sorry, this is late. As I said last week, I was in Kent all day (I can’t understand how Ruki can stand living there) playing in an American Football Game. To those interested we, the London Blitz beat the Kent Exiles 44-14. Pretty fantastic although it was an utter embarrassment when we actually let those two touchdowns from them happen due to a screwed up kick return. This score will really help us to get a playoff place. Next week is a home game so I should be able to get on this when it releases as normal.

Code Geass R2 07 - Not That Much Happened

Seriously, not so much happened… just a few intense moment but overall this episode seemed shorter than the rest. It is public now that Nunnally is the General Governor now, and about her plans to reinstate Euphie’s old plan, bring equality to Area 11 and giving the Japanese back their nationality. Obviously this is not met well with the Japanese owing to how the last time this was promised, the princess went on a massacre spree. Anyone want to see Nunnally on a kill spree now? Also, it is kind of touching (if I didn’t hate Suzaku) how close he and Nunnally are… especially the hand touch. Also, I find it funny how low an opinion the Japanese have of him.

And… Kaguya-Hime! This episode alone was great for the decent amount of Kaguya. I like her utter devotion to Zero, when really most would really think they were doomed. Zero does save them all in the nick of time there though. But her devotion is pretty deep, her being so lenient of Zero, I would have thought she would be possessive. Now I like her even more! Like before wasn’t enough…

And together we will be Zero-sama’s Harem, and we could do each others hair while one of us take their turn with him. Ah, a hero like him will definitely be able to last enough for all three of us. It was like that in the doujins I have read!”

I have no fucking clue what that was about… I have been moe’d out and my brain is on the fritz it seems. Also, I have only just noticed I have only seen one Kaguya doujin, and hell, Kallen was the main emphasis of it actually. Anyways, I have to say I like the outfits they are wearing and the awkward moment by Kallen and C.C.

Lloyd gets some more screen time as well, and Cecile too! What I want to know is why she is with Guilford there actually, but it is most probable that she came to see Suzaku but he left before he was actually discharged. And Cecile thought Guilford could use the food. I thought Guilford was about to rage when Lloyd picked up that sandwich but actually it was pity! XD Oh god, hilarious. There should be more of them, just cut down the Suzaku time.

It was at this time I though Lelouch had totally cracked. Lelouch has been so emo about Nunnally and has even been having a Shinji Ikari moment riding about in the train with no destination in mind. What finally we saw, though not that well was something I wanted to see for a while - Lelouch just absolutely abusing his powers. From geassing the whole compartment to leave and cram themselves into the adjacent to the weird things he got the Refrain sellers to do had me cracking up. I don’t know if he totally just didn’t care what he did right then or was particularly malicious. That one guy will probably do push up until he dies as Lelouch had given no conditions to stop. The others too - I laugh at the one who will die from dancing.

And we has a cute little C.C. moment. There has been at least one every episode recently (I so loved the gun malfunction) and I am liking that. She wasn’t like this in season one! I just wished she would play a bigger role than she has now - Kallen seems to be taking a fair share of the spotlight. I hope this means that the ending half will have more C.C. probably to really delve into the mysteries of the Geass. I would enjoy that.

Hot and steamy moment here… I loved it, almost like a moment from some indecent shoujou manga which I love. Lelouch was just so uncaring here, seeking comfort and just plaining stating out that Kallen should supply that, as only a woman can. Oh boy, he is as much a smoothe talker with the ladies as Ulquiorra.

And SLAP! woah, I actually wasn’t expecting that but then again, he isn’t wearing his mask and being very over the top about it so I can see why Kallen didn’t let him. What is funnier is if it did happen, Rollo would have been spying on it. Rollo seems to be so in love with his nii-san (ignoring the bit where he doesn’t comment on Lelouch mentioning Nunnally in his sleep to which it is kind of creepy that he was there for that) and is getting way too close. Physically.

And when I thought, it would all just be done and over with, as Lelouch rediscovers his way or some such tripe, it comes and slap me in the face with an awesome pwning of the Britainian empire yet again. My word, seeing those ships just topple over (which is extremely dangerous and would have probably killed a lot of people) was just damn hilarious and we see Lelouch is completly back in his game. Hm I want to have a little look at those ships again (have an interest in navel warfare I do) and about the Carbon Hydrates and see whether this would actually happen (at least a little bit if not at this grand level). I would do it now but I don’t want to chemistry myself out with my Physics exams this week. I got time to do both Physics and Chemistry when the final year module exams roll about in two weeks time. ORZ.

And so Zero announces joining the Special Administrative Region in his usual over the top way. It looks like not that much of the Black Knights like this decision either but we will have to wait until next episode to really see how this plays out. So here it end. Looking back, I thought it was weird when Lelouch’s friends stayed behind for him and their little talk about everybody… Does anyone know that Kallen is a terrorist? Also what was weird was the talk about the shape of happiness - like glass, that is always there but you can’t always see it, but if you look at it from different angles it shines. A weird if nice analogy, shame it came from Suzaku who even the Japanese knows that he sold Suzaku to the Empire… lol.

Well, I can’t wait for next episode, hope much more will happen as this episode was somewhat slow. Also, I apologise for how late this one is to my normal times but it was murder getting this episode. In advance, it is unlikely I will get to seeing and blogging Code Geass until the Monday of next week as I will be down in Kent all Sunday hopefully annihilating the the Kent Exiles yet again (46-8 last game, but it is a whole new game now. A sword requires thorough beating and we could be facing a team who really wants revenge). I look forward to this as I have been moved to a very good position in the roster and will probably start, but it doesn’t matter as long as I get at least as much play time as last game which was almost all. Ah God, I love American Football. Team Pride Blitz. Forgive the little Football rant.

Man this has been a long post… And I have an exam tommorow! D:

Code Geass R2 06 - NUNNALLY!!!

Oh my god… This is what I have been waiting for, a brillaint fight episode finally. Although, so much did happen and get revealed this episode, I am still in some awe from the fighting near the end. (And in awe that Kaguya got more than 2 seconds of screentime… Kaguya-hime!)

Rollo has his uses and it seems apparent that his Geass can only last about five seconds at a time it seems. I was wondering how Lelouch would get out of this perdicament as he surely doesn’t want to crush Nunnally but at the same time, he did promise not to lie to her. Luckily a Rollo was there to save his ass (funny how supernatural powers get him through most of his troubles…) and now Suzaku has doubt about whether Lelouch’s memories have returned and whether the new Zero is a fake.

New Loli… proably the Chinese princess… I hesistate to think she is the empress or what not… I want to know a lot more about the Chinese Federation… about their powrbase and how they operate. I would think that to make his take down of Britainnia effective, Lelouch would have to gain more favour with such a large power (one that has been alluded to).

Obligatory…. Kaguya-hime!!! Oh god, it was such a surprise to see her get a better amount of screen time. At least we find out where she has been hiding out at, like the rest of the important members of the Black Knights it seems.

If I were Lelouch, I would be less interested in the Chess board… Lelouch asks some poignant questions and gets some rather cryptic remarks from C.C. I still so desperately want to know what her wish is, the one stipulated when she gave Lelouch his powers.

And on the other side, the emperor calls V.V. nii-san which has me really confused… V.V. has been with the emperor since the Emperor’s childhood as a older brother like person seems the more likely thing. I really want some backstory explanation here. The geass side of the story is where a lot of my interest lays but we only het more information at a snail’s pace.

It is moments like this that remind me quite jarringly why Lelouch has seemed so cool to me. Nevermind the mincing about or the theratric affair, just ordering death and casuallly strolling to where he want to be was just awesome. And he always seems to have most of the bases covered, with the guard killing everyone in the guard room.

Obligatory Anya Screenshot… finally, we see the Mordred in action. Those four hadron cannons (physics lol) surely pack a huge punch desimating the other ship which was falling. A whole load of better mech just came to this, with the Knights of Round in their custom mechs, and Guilford in a one of the prototype mass produced units. Suzaku seems kinda haxed in his Lancelot now, with the new powerful gun attachment and him survivng pretty well under the Gurren’s Rad Arm where others have been completely decimated. Hell, the shot in the face did more damage than the rad arm did to the Lancelot.

The fighting was pretty cool to begin with, but it just got awesome with the improved Gurren who got remade mid flight in an epic and complicated manner and the aerial fights started in earnest against the Knights of Round. The Gurren is now packed with some awesome gadgets with a cool new Rad Arm which now can do long distance shots. Kind of lame for Guilford to be able to escape that. Finally, the Knights have an aerial frame too to match the Britainian ones, and it matches pretty well, disabling frames and the erradicating Guilford’s unit of mech.

What? Again!? Kaguya-hime! I got to say, I love R2’s new clothes designs for some of my favourite characters, like C.C.’s new outfit. I must say, that Ogi is sporting some cool new threads too. Why is he wearing that instead of the Black Knights uniform though?

I actually had no idea how much I missed Nunnally until she actuallly had some actual screen time in the longest time. Nunnally is trying to extend the same offer to Zero as Euphie did before her. We all know how well that turned out… and Lelouch remembers that quite negatively as well. He almost had her but spent way too long just talking to her. I thought it was harsh when Nunnally calls out to Suzaku for help, pretty much tearing Lelouch to pieces. And it seems that Nunnally may recognise Zero by his screams of Nunnally. This is getting more and more intriguing. I desperately await the next episode.

So yeah, I am now labled a loli master at least in relation with this show… meh, not like I am complaining. So many returning characters… my favourite is Lloyd who pulls off the weirdest exclamation ever when the Lancelot was hit in the head.

Zero’s Hit List

Zero has been on a killing spree and all the victims had one similar factor… Each one has one thing in common. They are all Governor-Generals of Area 11. Indeed the position seems to be cursed with Zero killing the last three.

Prince Clovis - killed personally face to face - shot.

Princess Euphemia - killed personally face to face - shot regrettably but still killed.

That Guy - Unimportant enough not to bother personally - crushed under building.

And next is Nunnally! I am sorry but this is what I thought when Nunnally was revealed as the next General-Governer of Area 11. I am still damned shocked that Suzaku got one over Lelouch although the look on his face was brilliant. I wonder how more difficult this will make Lelouch fighting Britainia.

Oh and I would like Suzaku to get his Knight of One dream and rule over Area 11. Maybe then Lelouch could actually kill the bastard. He should have taken up Rollo’s offer, seriously.

I am feverish, tired from unplanned football training and somewhat bored of episodic reviews… expect some more of this weirdness (the post) at odd intervals. Also this post was somewhat an excuse just to use my tablet… yeah, I fully exploited its use, yeah…

Code Geass R2 05 - Fun And Wacky

Oh my god, no one… NO ONE saw this coming. Suzaku coming back and his interactions with Lelouch were hilarious as they try to second guess each other and try to play their parts while still hating each other’s guts. The reveal with Nunnally at the end as the new Governor-General was out of this world, but this is where it gets interesting. Lelouch actually shouldn’t know Nunnally, he will have to heart-breaking-ly tell her that he doesn’t have a sister, all so that he isn’t caught by Suzaku. Harsh.

On the other side, Lelouch is slowing removing all the old surveillance troubles he used to have and now, he has Villetta blackmailed now as well in relation to her relationship with Ogi. The nail in the coffin was just Lelouch casually giving her the birthday present and wishing a Happy Birthday… that was slick of him. XD

The rest of the episode wasn’t so serious at all (and it seems to be a pattern this season for 5th episodes from what I saw of Druaga) and was really wacky fun especially the huge chase after the tomato bearing Knightmare Frame. Feeling the C.C. love again, as I really like her in the school uniform. It is hilarious that she would risk capture for the (still unsuccessfully made) giant pizza. She still hasn’t eaten pizza in the longest time though… oh and the ear pieces make her look like Chachamaru as everyone is saying…

I do feel sorry about what happened to C.C. this episode. Lelouch was really callous to just toss her in there. I hope this doesn’t traumatize her toward Pizza. C.C. reveals here that she knows of V.V. I really want to know more about the Geass subplot so this was interesting…

Customary Kallen ass shot… She does seem to be the fan service machine of the second season now… not that I am complaining. Alright I am, it needs more C.C. fanservice - more so than the two or three panty shots of her in the tub of tomatoes.

Quite a lot of fanservice this episode, more so than usual (thank you Shirley, you actually have a use now suggesting this). Although I did want the plot to progress much faster, I did enjoy this episode nonetheless even with little much going on, although the last revelation probably made up for it. Zino and Anya were introduced properly this episode, and I really like them although Zino is way too touchy feely with Suzaku. I declined on Anya screenshots because some people suspect be of being lolicon… The transformer type knightmare frame wasn’t as bad in action as I thought and we didn’t see the Mordred in any action.

Finally, I would like to apologise for the lateness of this post to when I usually get this out, but I was playing in my fight American Football match and we won…. 48-8!! WOO!

A Plea For Scanlation - Nightmare of Nunnally

I remembered when the first season of Code Geass came out, I didn’t take much heed of the manga. There was three - Lelouch of the Rebelion was an abridged retelling, Counterattack of Suzaku was a watered down version with yaoi vibes and Nightmare of Nunnally had me somewhat confused. A year later, for unknown reasons, I checked the raws (this is becoming a habit) for the first two volumes as even now, only two chapter had been scanlated. I found myself amazed, particularly at Zero.

This Is Zero. In NoN, a mix between Spawn and Batman, being able to even take on Knightmare Frames on his own. Revelations later changes this a bit but seriously, this was more awesome and C.C. reappearing was fantastic too especially when we thought that she and Lelouch kicked the bucket in chapter 1. I find myself not really liking a faithful anime to manga adaptation but I liked this because it was a huge departure trying to add something entirely new (like the manga for Eureka Seven which I loved) . Summary for Nightmare of Nunnally from MangaUpdates:

An alternate Code Geass story in which Lelouch’s fate is unknown after his meeting with C.C., whether he be dead or alive. Nunnally makes a Geass contract and gains the power to read the lines of the future. She also obtains a new body and takes up piloting an unusual Knightmare Frame.

Poor Summary I know but man, from just skimming through the two volumes, it looked awesome… I so badly, so desperately need this scanlated. That or I can finish the first volume entirely in a year of intense translation myself. orz

Plea over, now for my regularly scheduled anime blogging. (Been catching up on my manga… Next to catch up fully on is Akumetsu)

Code Geass R2 04 - In Area 11, Lelouch Owns Rollo

Oh God, Lelouch, you got Rollo onto your side through an impressive emotional baiting game while pulling off yet another fun Britainian owning. Lelouch is entirely back on form it seems. Rollo’s Geass is completely discovered by Lelouch in a bit of foreplanning that made little sense for him to do but whatever. Rollo’s past is somewhat revealed as well. I think we can definitely rule out all those Rollo may be Nunally theories going around… Also, Rollo as a Shouta Assassin was hilarious to see as is Rollo’s Shinji Ikari moment.

This episode’s owning of Britainia was reminiscent of episode 23 of the last season. Why must everything be built on easily destroyed foundations. What would Lelouch use then!? Seriously, this was a great reveal totally throwing you off as you try to figure out exactly what Lelouch was doing. And using the shield to board it down to safety was hilarious. Guilford was thoroughly beaten in this exchange. Tell that to your creepy Cornelia plate!

I have no clue why Li Xingke made such a big deal last episode to which he only just struck a deal in the end to kill off the politician. A lot of speculation for nothing…

Awwww… C.C. can’t assemble a handgun…. is it just me or was she especially moe in this scene… The new outfit helps…

Excuse me but… ‘Kaguya-Hime!!’ There seems to be a bigger plan coming from what we hear Diethard telling Sayako. I so want to see more of these characters… so badly… Kaguya-Hime! I swear she will actually have a purpose later on. I swear!

Oh yeah and the backstabber is back at school. I want to see how pissed Lelouch is interacting with Suzaku casually while deep down inside he wants to snap his neck. This should be fun and the Loli Knight gets more screen time too. Really i want them to maybe fasten the pace and move from the whole school scene but that depends on how it goes in the next episode I guess.

Also, sorry for the lateness of this post. Not as fast as usual because my internet decided to die on me and refused revival. orz. This is a problem only Ruki should have…
